Studio D'Artisan is celebrating their 45th anniversary and introducing some limited products for the occasion. When we saw the "Ishikawadai" models, we knew we had to get our hands on some.
"Ishikawadai" is the oldest Japanese ring spinning machine currently in operation , manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953. This machine weaves much slower than modern spinning machines but puts much less tension on the cotton. You can feel the difference as soon as you pick up a pair of the "Ishikawadai".
Weaved into a beautiful 13oz selvedge denim that has been one-washed to remove shrinkage and ready for you to wear. The SP-086 is SDA's tapered cut, which has already become a store favorite and includes an "Ishikawadai" tote bag with every pair.
